A few weeks ago we received a message from Lynn Brown on behalf of her dear friend Julie, who was unfortunately coming to the end of her battle with cancer.
We were told that Julie’s dream was to spend a last Christmas with her husband Terry, their children and grandchildren.
As soon as we received the wish we were eager to get to work to make the dream come true.
Lynn Brown, who sent the dream to us, said:
“In just two days I had a reply and everything started rolling thanks to the wonderful Shiree. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her lovely husband.”
The date was set for Sunday 15th November, but our team needed to visit the family on the Wednesday before to decorate the family home into a Christmas wonderland. Julie was thrilled and enjoyed the Christmas build up as we even planted a Christmas tree outside in the garden.
Sadly, Julie passed away in the early hours of Sunday 15th November, the morning of the dream. As was her wish, the family went ahead with the day to celebrate her life together as she would have wanted.
The Christmas dream was a truly magical one; the children loved the snow machine out in the garden, and the arrival of Santa on his reindeer with gifts helped the little ones feel happy on such a sad day. Santa also brought a photo blanket for Julie, which has now been buried with her.
The team beautifully decorated a marquee so that the family could have a delicious Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings, which was enjoyed by all!
Lynn Brown said:
“Julie’s wish had come true thanks to a wonderful Shiree and Eve’s Trust. You will never know how much that meant to all the family and myself. Thank you just doesn’t seem enough. You are all saints in my eyes. God bless you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
